A full-time onsite role in Cambridge, UK
At Gearset, we're committed to creating the best possible workplace experience for our people — an office that's genuinely great to work in, not just functional.
We're looking for an organised, proactive facilities assistant to help keep our Cambridge HQ running like clockwork. It's a hands-on role focused on the everyday things that make an office actually work, clean, stocked, safe, and a genuinely nice place to be.
As a Facilities Assistant at Gearset, you'll be at the heart of the day-to-day office experience for the whole team. This is a great opportunity whether you're new to the workplace or looking to make a real difference as part of a high-performing facilities team.
What’s the opportunity for a Facilities Assistant at Gearset?
- You'll have a direct, visible impact on how the whole office experiences their working day - your work is felt by everyone, every single day
- You'll get variety in your day — no two days look the same, from managing deliveries to supporting onboarding to troubleshooting small facilities issues
- You'll build genuine, transferable skills in supplier coordination, office operations and health & safety practice
- You'll play a real part in shaping how our office feels, a well-run, welcoming workplace doesn't happen by accident, and you'll be at the heart of that
What you’ll achieve
- Keep shared areas (kitchens, coffee bar and meeting rooms) stocked, tidy and ready for use
- Own day to day food and drink provisioning: placing orders (e.g. Sainsbury's), unpacking deliveries, rotating stock, and keeping storage organised
- Support daily office hygiene routines (e.g. dishwasher runs, waste and general housekeeping tasks)
- Help with onboarding logistics: liaising with our landlords, supporting first day office tours, and setting up basics like access cards and photos where needed
- Coordinate with suppliers and our landlord site team (e.g. post/couriers, canteen headcount comms, coffee bar maintenance & callouts, plants)
- Carry out simple, repeatable maintenance tasks and checks and raise/escalate issues promptly
- Support request handling by monitoring facilities requests and helping triage and action straightforward tasks
- Provide day-to-day support to the Facilities Coordinator and Facilities Manager, helping the wider team stay on top of priorities
About you
- Dependable and approachable, and take pride in keeping things running well
- Strong organisation and delivery — comfortable multi-tasking, managing procurement and deliveries, and a steady flow of small requests from around the business
- A practical, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck into hands-on tasks
- Confident communicating with peers and suppliers
- Excellent problem solving skills
Great to haves
- Previous experience in an office, or facilities role
