Events Marketing Manager

A full-time hybrid role in Cambridge, UK

As the leader of our events team, you will be instrumental in driving brand awareness and opportunities through our events, including trade shows, conferences, and virtual events.

In this role, you'll lead a talented team, manage relationships with stakeholders internally and externally, and drive strategic initiatives that elevate our brand with the Salesforce and DevOps communities.

What's the opportunity for an Events Marketing Manager at Gearset?

  • Manage and mentor a team delivering our own high-quality events, as well as 3rd-party events we’re sponsoring and attending
  • Design and deliver our events strategy based on company goals and priorities, balancing brand awareness with lead generation
  • Create and maintain key processes that ensure a high quality bar for all events, whether physical or virtual
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Interact with the Salesforce community — you’ll be confident and comfortable communicating with different audiences, across different channels and building strong relationships
  • Get involved as needed in hands-on management of events/on-the-ground support
  • Care about the details — we’re meticulous planners who work alongside our sales and customer success teams, delivering events that delight the community
  • Travel from time to time for on-the-ground support

What you'll achieve

  • Create and execute an events strategy that has been developed alongside internal stakeholders, to drive opportunities and brand awareness 
  • Learn from, and share your experience with, a great team from a wide range of backgrounds in a feedback-driven culture where you can do your best work
  • Create compelling messages for different audience segments, used in promotional content (digital and print), as well post-event activities
  • Establish a data-driven approach to strategic and tactical decision making
  • Lead and develop an events team to deliver high-calibre events and experiences to help us achieve our commercial goals

About you

  • Have experience of delivering B2B event marketing plans and opportunity generation through event delivery, ideally in the SaaS software space
  • Thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
  • Love to learn and improve, and you’re comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback to make your work even better
  • Commercially minded and have a strategic outlook 
  • Experience managing a team 
  • Enjoy working across departments with a diverse team

  • Familiarity with Salesforce
  • Previously sat across marketing/sales teams
