Gearset’s data deployments are coming out of beta
Ellis Toms on March 27th 2018
Since we introduced our data deployment beta, the Gearset team have been working hard based on user feedback to develop a data deployment tool that delivers quick, easy and successful Salesforce data deployments.
Over the past several months, our data deployer has evolved significantly to make your data deployments even easier and faster. The added ability to filter objects by field value when you deploy, pick which dependencies to deploy as well as customizable field mapping for upserting records are just some of the ways Gearset has been developing this feature to provide tailored, reliable data deployments.
Based on these significant developments, we’re happy to announce that data support will be coming out of beta from the 16th of April! This means that you have a few weeks to keep enjoying data deployments for free before they become an add-on purchase to your team’s Gearset subscription (as of April 16th).
How much will data support cost and how can I add it to my subscription?
While we prepare to take data support out of beta, for the next few weeks you’ll still be able to deploy your data with Gearset for free. This means that if you have any data deployments to finish up or you haven’t had a chance to try out the feature for yourself there’s still time to do so.
After Gearset’s data deployer comes out of beta, a subscription must be purchased. Data support can be purchased as an additional bolt-on to your subscription, at the cost of $50 per Gearset license, per month. Please note that if you have several Gearset licenses/users and would like to purchase data support, you must purchase data support for each license. For example if you have 3 Gearset licenses, the cost of data support will be: 3 licenses X $50 = $150/month.
If you’re a new customer, data support will be able to be purchased and added to your licensing plan from the pricing page or you can contact us at [email protected] for a quote. If you’re an existing Gearset customer and would like a quote, simply get in touch with us at [email protected].
Data security and encryption
As a Salesforce partner, we understand the kind of data that users trust Salesforce with, and Gearset has been built to respect that data and that trust. Data security is built into every facet of the product from simple things like using the recommended Salesforce APIs and supporting OAuth so we never need your password, right through to advanced defence-in-depth techniques like encryption in transit and at rest. We don’t store your data on our servers, but it’ll pass through to allow us to run the deployment. For more information, see our security page or get in touch.
While our data support is ready to come out of beta, this doesn’t mean that development stops here! Like with all of Gearset’s features, there will be continuous ongoing work on our data support to ensure that your data deployments become even easier and quicker.
With customer feedback at the heart of what we do, Gearset endeavours to constantly evolve and give our customers the features that they want. If you have any feedback on how we can improve our data support (or any other features in Gearset) then please do get in touch at [email protected], through our live in-app chat or via feedback.gearset.com.
