Gearset is the leading developer of DevOps tools for the Salesforce platform, from startups to some of the most recognizable brands in the world, we're there behind the scenes as their trusted provider for release management software.
Gearset's got customers all over the planet, all shapes and sizes. Brands you've probably heard of at home like Tripadvisor and Consumer Brands, and then some of the really largest companies, Zana.
We start off with nothing. Like, we've got brand new company working in the space, so we didn't have any prior experience in it. And then what we've done is we've built a product which is now the world leader in Salesforce deployments.
I think the thing that I'm most proud of is that we've managed to grow the team so significantly without letting go of the culture that we originally set out to build. The idea is that you have everyone doing good work. You allow them to have that communication between teams, and you don't put arbitrary barriers up.
We have a really flat structure at Gessett. You feel like you're an equal with all of your colleagues. Everyone's opinion is is valued.
As a new member of staff, I could just lean over and tap the CEO on the shoulder, which was something I really didn't expect.
There's a lot of freedom. It's totally up to us how much we work in the office, how remotely we want to work.
Recently, I've moved over to a a remote role to move closer to family and friends. They fully backed me to be able to be just as productive and have just as much of an impact in a remote role as I would if I was in the office.
This is one of our guiding principles from the very start. Our software stack, the way we've set up the team and the company, you can work from home just as effectively as you can work in the office.
The way we work at Gearset makes me feel like I'm really trusted to get the job done and that my contribution is really valued as part of the team.
One of the things we try and do is make sure we don't have silos of people. Everyone's got good opinions, and we wanna hear from everyone.
Everybody is invested in the company and invested in helping each other and doing the right things.
I think we've been able to grow so quickly just because everyone understands every aspect of the business, at least to some degree.
I knew it would be quite a steep learning curve to get up to scratch, but it was actually surprisingly less difficult than I thought.
From day one, I had a mentor. He was there to help me with any questions or queries that I had, help me grow my skill set, learn exactly how, gear set like to work, but also how I could fit my own kind of working processes and practices into the team dynamic that they had going on there.
It feels really good to know that they have that trust in me to be able to define some of the processes and make some decisions about how we want to move forward.
One of the biggest challenges for us is always finding the right people to help us deliver our vision. We've set the scene now for the next few years of growth at Gear Set, and we're looking ahead to see what the future holds.
I think the really big thing as we go from seventy to a hundred and forty people next year is not compromising on on who we like to work with, how they like to work together, and the things that we started Gear Set for.
We want people who are eager to solve problems.
We wanna find people that we love working with.
We want people who can drive their own work, take ownership of things, and really own things end to end.
Gearset is a unique opportunity.
We've got that amazing start up culture, but the stability of a more established company.
If you're thinking of applying for a new software job, absolutely apply for Gearset.
It's the best thing I've ever done because the experience I've managed to get here and the responsibility I've had, I don't think I'll ever go elsewhere.
This company has made a huge difference to my professional skill set, giving me incredible opportunities to travel the world and develop features for teams for some of the biggest companies in the world.
The people are fantastic. The work's exciting. The The location's awesome. It's probably the best career move I've ever made.
It's just like working with your friends really. It's always just fun to be in work.
