- A big risk of us not using Gearset would be, we're a security company. We can't release bad code. We can't release security vulnerabilities. Gearset really helps us keep our code base clean.
My name is Marko Self. I'm a solutions architect at Ping Identity. Ping Identity is an identity and access management company. Some of the challenges with our previous process were that we didn't have a really good way to keep track of all of the changes that we were deploying.
We would sometimes deploy old code, overwrite new code, or remove segments of code that we didn't intend to.
- My name is Andrew Kuttor, Senior DevOps for Ping Identity. Gearset does a really good job at exposing your entire pipeline from end-to-end. And giving DevOps engineers like myself, not just that visibility, but also that control through that whole pipeline.
- We ended up moving to pipelines because pipelines allow everyone to have their own developer sandbox. Version control is now a source of truth. And so we don't have people stepping on each other's toes anymore. It allows us to work much more efficient and collaboratively.
Our onboarding experience with Gearset was top notch, actually. We had a dedicated account executive who helped us all the way from the very beginning deciding what should be our software lifecycle design pattern. Looking at branching patterns that helped us decide what was gonna be the right fit for Ping in how we work.
