I’ll admit that when we first put our roadmap together back in early October, I was nervous. We committed to several major new features, the biggest of which being our org change monitoring service, Insight. This alone could easily have been enough to keep us busy until the end of the year. Feeling confident in our abilities, we scheduled a slew of user experience improvements and a major upgrade to the comparison engine that powers Gearset into the mix. Combined with the stress testing of a rapidly increasing user-base, it felt like an ambitious target.
With the launch of deployment annotations and email notifications to groups this week, and Insight out of preview and into GA, I’m happy to say that nervousness was ill-founded, as we’ve hit all our roadmap targets for 2015 with a couple of weeks to spare.
We’ve added a huge amount of new functionality to the app since our big launch at Dreamforce in September and if you haven’t tried it in a while, I strongly suggest you take a look to see what’s changed or check out our new support videos for a quick demo. A big thank you must go out to all our users for the great feedback which has helped us shape these latest additions.
While this is a big milestone, this is just the beginning for Gearset. We have plenty more ambitious targets on our roadmap for 2016, including a move towards full CI support, improving team access and sharing, and scheduled org metadata backups. We’re still razor focussed on building the best experience for our users, helping them simplify and improve their release management process.
This will probably be one of the last updates to the blog before the Christmas shutdown, so from everyone at the Gearset Team - happy holidays!
