DIGITALL slashed code errors by 70-80% with Gearset, boosting client trust and speeding up delivery.

DIGITALL is a certified Salesforce multi-cloud reseller and implementation partner, providing consultancy and digital transformation in industry sectors such as retail, automotive and construction.

Enhancing partnerships with Code reviews

To further differentiate themselves in the competitive Salesforce ecosystem, DIGITALL integrated Code reviews (powered by Clayton), Gearset’s advanced code-scanning solution. This allowed them to automate code reviews, reduce defects, and enforce coding best practices, leading to faster delivery times, improved client satisfaction, and new business wins.

Delivering high quality code at scale

As a Salesforce Implementation Partner with over 600 consultants, with at least 100 of those in the Salesforce practice, DIGITALL faced the challenge of consistently meeting growing clients expectations, particularly in delivering high quality code. Their teams needed to keep codebases free of errors, easy to maintain, and able to scale to accommodate future growth and changes. The DIGITALL team recognized that any lapses in code quality could lead to significant issues for their clients, potentially resulting in system failures, delays, and a loss of reputation.

Aware of the need to optimize their development process, DIGITALL sought to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual effort. The goal was to boost efficiency — giving developers more time to focus on complex, creative work, and keeping projects on track and within budget.

The DIGITALL team identified code quality as a key way to stand out in a competitive market. By consistently delivering high-quality code, they could build trust with their clients and position themselves as the partner to rely on for a clear and defined development process.

“We were seeing in the past a lot of issues that I think we can now easily solve with Code reviews. That is for example, missing entry criteria and fault paths in flows. Stuff that you can easily miss in an implementation project because, well, you’re just creating another flow and maybe you have some tight deadlines, so it needs to be finished quickly. That’s just stuff you miss.”

Why Code reviews was the right solution for DIGITALL

DIGITALL found a perfect fit for their needs in Gearset’s Code reviews (powered by Clayton) an automated code review tool that fitted seamlessly into DIGITALL’s development process. Implementing Code reviews’ automated codebase scans helped the DIGITALL team to identify potential issues, including security vulnerabilities, code inefficiencies, and deviations from established best practices.

Another key benefit of Code reviews was preemptive error detection. By identifying potential errors before the code is deployed, Code reviews helps DIGITALL avoid costly and time-consuming post-deployment fixes. This not only saved DIGITALL valuable resources but also ensured they delivered high quality Salesforce implementations in every project.

Reducing escalations through collaborative code review

Recognizing that automation alone was not sufficient, DIGITALL invested in training their teams on automation best practices.

Code reviews enabled DIGITALL to develop a culture of collaboration and compliance within their development team. By providing a centralized platform for code reviews and ensuring that all developers adhered to the same set of standards, Code Reviews helped align the team with best practices and security protocols.

The results speak for themselves. DIGITALL has reduced escalations due to quality issues in deployments by 70-80% since integrating Code reviews into their workflows.

The team has found that now they are able to identify potential issues early, such as missing flow fault paths and entry criteria, the systems they are building are more stable and more consistent.

“They really also see the potential that this is not a tool that we want to implement to monitor them, or control them, or point out that there are flaws in their code – because everyone makes mistakes. Everyone overlooks something, but it’s rather a tool that we want to use to help them, to help all of us deliver high quality projects.”

How Gearset powers DIGITALL’s full DevOps lifecycle

The team at DIGITALL has ambitious plans to significantly expand their use of Code review’s automation capabilities to enforce even stricter coding standards, including comprehensive AI readiness checks. This will ensure that their codebase is not only consistently free of errors and vulnerabilities but also optimized for integration with Agentforce by ensuring that the code, metadata and data is in the best possible shape.

Code reviews also enabled DIGITALL to develop a culture of collaboration and compliance within their DIGITALL development team. By providing a centralized platform for code reviews and ensuring that all developers adhered to the same set of standards, Code Reviews helped align the team with best practices and security protocols. This led to more efficient and effective development processes.

Confident in their partnership with Gearset, the DIGITALL team are planning to integrate more robust and comprehensive testing frameworks, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, into their development pipeline.

Working with Gearset means that DIGITALL has an end-to-end DevOps process/solution that supports their projects and clients at every stage of the DevOps lifecycle. Their developers are able to move effortlessly through the DevOps lifecycle without having to switch tools, streamlining their workflows and reducing the friction often associated with context switching. This has already led to increased developer productivity and faster delivery of high-quality Salesforce solutions.

If you start using Code reviews, there needs to be a mind change also, with the employees. You need to more or less start to live this quality thinking. You need to convince each and everyone. It’s not just a tool like that and then everything is fine – it’s also a mind change in the company. How will your daily work and your work with the customers look in future, and your expectations when it comes to quality?”
