Mid-weight Graphic Designer

A full-time hybrid role in Cambridge, UK

What’s the opportunity for a Graphic Designer at Gearset?

  • Help to develop the visual identity of the Gearset brand, providing regular feedback and input to shape this.
  • You’ll support the team in the ideation, design and creation of various assets including promo and marketing materials, customer facing documents, pitch decks and website pages.
  • Pitch in with idea generation and content creation for marketing campaigns, promoting Gearset and building awareness, in order to support the long-term marketing strategy. 
  • You’ll get to proactively suggest interesting and creative solution ideas for communicating relatively complex concepts using graphic design and web functionality.

What you’ll achieve

  • You’ll design web page layouts, working with our web developer to bring these to life.
  • Create  promotional assets, including social ads, infographics, diagram and explainer graphics, pitches and presentations.
  • Monitor design requests from marketing (and wider GS team) and proactively manage design tasks/projects.
  • Aid in the creation/maintenance of (and adherence to) brand identity including graphic/artwork styles, colour palette, and logo mark(s).

About you

  • Previous experience as a graphic designer 
  • Experience of working professionally in a design discipline
  • Proficient in Adobe and Figma
  • Experience in web design and competent in printed & digital media design
  • Ability to create graphic assets in accordance to a set style (icons, basic vector graphics etc)An iterative, feedback-driven approach to design
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Time management, in particularly across multiple projects
  • Teamwork & collaboration
  • Stakeholder management / management of expectations
  • Open communication in order to coordinate timelines and manage expectations
  • Integrating with team & culture, presenting ideas & concepts
  • An awareness and understanding of the marketing team’s objectives, key results and tactics 
  • The ability to communicate complex concepts visually (infographics, diagrams etc)
  • User empathy, and an aptitude for using this to create captivating and evocative designs

Great to haves

  • An understanding of DevOps, Salesforce & the problems Gearset solves
  • Grasp of simple HTML & CSS 
  • Graphic art skills beyond basic vector graphicsBasic animation skills — 2D or 3D
  • Experience working on marketing/advertising projects, including themes, messaging etc

Salary and benefits (the stuff you’d expect!)

  • Salary is between £30k - £40k (depending on experience)
  • This is a full time opportunity, working Monday to Friday with the option of flexible home working (for most of us that looks like 2-3 days a week in the office)
