Do I have to install anything in my Salesforce orgs?
Gearset is a web app, and there’s no managed package to install in your Salesforce orgs. You will need to “install” Gearset as a connected app in Salesforce, which is simply making a secure connection in the way Salesforce requires.
What metadata types can I deploy using Gearset?
Gearset uses Salesforce’s Metadata API and supports every metadata type supported by the API. This covers most Salesforce Clouds and Agentforce. Gearset also supports deploying Salesforce Industries and CPQ/RCA configuration data in the same way as metadata.
Which source control providers does Gearset support?
Gearset supports all major Git-hosting providers: GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, AWS Code Comit, Azure DevOps.
Why compare environments before deploying?
Comparing environments is what allows Gearset to make sure deployments are successful. The deployment package is built with reference to the target environment, so problems can be fixed ahead of time.
