DevOps Engineer (Experienced)

As a product-driven company founded by engineers, we know the value of a great engineering culture, and we’re looking for experienced DevOps engineers to join a team built from the ground up on trust, teamwork and tight feedback loops.

You’ll work collaboratively using a pragmatically-chosen modern tech stack (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Terraform, .NET) to help Gearset run a scalable, secure and reliable service, and enable development of the solution to scale with the growth of the company.

• Be an integral part of building out our multi-tenant infrastructure, from a single region, to multiple across the globe, utilising the power of AWS. 
• You'll be involved in building and maintaining the automation that allows us to do things such as: release the product to our users multiple times per day, secure the system, provide observability and alerting, and improve how we operate across the board.
• Our small but growing team has the opportunity to work on production infrastructure, which requires maintenance with (little to) no downtime regardless of the complexity of the task.
• You’ll be working with a collaborative team of varied disciplines, including developers, designers, marketers, and salespeople.
• There are opportunities to work with other engineers day to day to help make a real difference to our customers. 

• Maintain and improve our infrastructure to help scale for an ever growing user base, and support a team developing our increasingly sophisticated SaaS.
• Learn from, and share your experience with, a great team from a wide range of backgrounds in a feedback driven culture where you can do your best work.
• Work closely with folks from various internal teams to find new ways to improve our systems to continue to delight our users and help Gearset grow.
• Contribute opinions on a range of topics, from DevOps practices to product strategy and roadmap, to impact what we work on moving forward.

• Have 5+ years’ experience as a DevOps engineer
• Have in-depth practical experience working on AWS (VPC networking and security, IAM, EC2, Postgres RDS, S3, EKS)
• Practical experience with Kubernetes
• Practical experience with Terraform
• Experience in the configuration and running of a CI/CD pipeline
• Previous experience working on hosted, multi-tenant products
• Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback to make your work even better
• Approach your work with pragmatism, prioritising iteration, and delivering value over process and deliberation

• Experience with .NET/C#
• You’ve worked in an agile development team with a focus on delivering value early
• Experience with building observability and alerting into systems

• Salary is £78K - £100K (depending on experience)
• This is a full time opportunity, working Monday to Friday with the option of flexible home working (for most of us that looks like 2-3 days a week in the office)
